For many years now, I have shared a tradition with my best friend which has become a huge part of my life. We are both huge music lovers, metalheads at heart, and love discovering new music. We also have an obsession for classifying and ranking every piece of media we consume.
From that obsession, we began to heavily deep dive into the discographies of artists that we'd been wanting to check out but never got around to, and reviewing their albums for our own fun. But after years of doing this, it's quickly gotten out of hand, and I have ended up with hundreds of reviews and think pieces on music.
And so, this website was born. I wish to share my musical journey with anyone who shares the feeling of metal music being in their blood.
The site will mostly contain album reviews. Most of these will be some form of rock or metal, leaning more towards the power/progressive side of things. Anything from the classics to niche discoveries. Every piece of music that I discover and think worth sharing will be recorded here. Most, if not all of these reviews, will include a ranking of the songs within the album from "worst to best".
Of course I believe it obvious to state that these will all be my own opinion, so take them with a pinch of salt.
What else to expect
Aside from reviews, I will also post anything that pertains to my music journey. Think-pieces, opinions on recent rock and metal news and events, my experience at live events, anything worth starting a conversation over.
I've been blessed to be able to experience so much of the metal and music world first hand. I've seen some legendary bands live, met some incredible, knowledgeable people with insight into songwriting and the art of music, and have even delved into writing songs and becoming an aspiring musician.
What I have lacked is a true community, people to talk to about music I love, about the creative process of creating music, people who share my passion for the most amazing form art in this world. That is what I want to create on this site.
